At Wild Wind Ranch, our horseback riding lessons provide a fun and comprehensive introduction to the equestrian experience. Participants will learn essential horsemanship skills, including how to safely approach, handle, groom, and care for a horse or pony. Lessons may also include learning how to saddle and unsaddle, as well as developing basic riding skills appropriate for each participant’s age and experience level.
Lesson times are typically scheduled on a week-to-week basis, but we are happy to work with your schedule whenever possible. Our goal is to provide a fun, educational, and supportive environment where riders can build confidence, develop new skills, and create a meaningful connection with their horse.
Cost:
- $45 per hour- all ages
- $30 per half-hour — ages 2–5 only

Homeschool Horseback Riding Lessons
Learning comes to life at Wild Wind Ranch! 
Our Homeschool Horseback Riding Program gives students the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom through hands-on experiences with horses. Each lesson combines education, horsemanship, and fun while helping students develop confidence, responsibility, patience, and independence.
Students will learn more than just how to ride. They will discover how to safely approach and handle a horse, groom and care for their equine partner, understand basic horse behavior and body language, properly saddle and unsaddle, and develop riding skills at their own pace.
Working with horses teaches valuable life skills that extend far beyond the barn. Students learn to communicate, problem-solve, follow directions, take responsibility, and build trust—all while creating a meaningful connection with an animal.
Our lessons are designed to be age-appropriate, engaging, and supportive, making them a wonderful addition to a homeschool education. Whether your child is brand new to horses or already has experience, we meet each student where they are and encourage them to grow in both skill and confidence.

-Therapeutic Riding/Equine Therapy
Led by Andrea Taylor Certified PATH/CRA Therapeutic Riding Instructor, our private and group lessons are thoughtfully customized to meet each rider’s individual needs, abilities, and goals. Before beginning lessons, each rider will complete an evaluation to help determine appropriate goals, abilities, and safety needs. Based on the evaluation, our team will determine the best approach, Trainer and level of support for each rider.
Through therapeutic riding and equine therapy, riders have the opportunity to build confidence, develop physical and emotional skills, and strengthen their connection with the horse.
Horse handlers and side walkers are present throughout each lesson to provide safety, guidance, and support. Every session includes clear goals, skill progression, and opportunities to develop independence in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment. Safety is always our top priority, and all activities are tailored to ensure the rider is participating at a level that is appropriate and comfortable for them.

The Horses Healing Hearts Program offers a unique form of equine therapy centered around connection, healing, and spending meaningful time with horses. No riding is involved. Instead, participants are invited to slow down, be present, and connect with the horses through calm, guided activities.
Sessions may include grooming, brushing, leading, observing, walking alongside the horses, and simply spending quiet time together. These activities can help encourage confidence, emotional awareness, communication, trust, and a sense of calm. Each session is guided by supportive staff who create a safe, welcoming environment where participants can work at their own pace. The goal is not to teach riding, but to create opportunities for personal growth and healing through the powerful connection between humans and horses.
Horses Healing Hearts Special Needs Program
A Smarter Kind of Adventure Think trail rides are just “hop on and go”? Not here! We start with a 30-minute lesson in the round pen to make sure both you and the horse are on the same page (spoiler: the horse might already know what it’s doing). Then, it’s off to explore the trail—assuming you pass the vibe check.
- Cost: $90/person
- Rules: One person per horse, 180 lb. weight limit (sorry, our horses don’t do CrossFit).
