About Wild Wind Ranch

In 2016, The owner of Wild Wind Ranch, Christy Lisle, was diagnosed with a rare cancer known as a poorly differentiated insular thyroid cancer.

The Lisle family opened the gates of their small family ranch to the community in order to raise money for Christy’s cancer treatments.

In addition to our low cost services, the ranch is now a place that allows others to come and experience the joys of tending to animals while also learning about them at no charge.

Founders and directors of Wild Wind Ranch

Trevor & Christy

Trevor and Christy’s journey began in 2021 when their lives took an unexpected turn—Christy was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Instead of retreating, they opened their hearts and their home, transforming their family ranch into a sanctuary where others could find peace, healing, and the simple joys of ranch life, all at no cost.

To help cover Christy’s treatments, they began offering horseback riding lessons and pony parties, turning their passion into a way to fight for her health. But their vision didn’t stop there. Now, their dream is to give others the same chance—to help those battling cancer access life-changing treatments in Mexico.

If you call Wild Wind Ranch to book a riding lesson or a pony party, Christy is the one who will greet you on the other end of the line. As the ranch administrator, she manages all scheduling and ensures everything runs smoothly. With her warmth and dedication, she not only keeps the ranch organized but makes every visitor feel like family.

Through their unwavering determination and selfless hearts, Trevor and Christy continue to turn hardship into hope, ensuring that no one has to face the fight alone.

Rain joined us as a volunteer three years ago, and in that time, she has become an irreplaceable part of our ranch family. Along her journey, she married Trevor and Christy‘s Son Cody Lisle and continued to pour her heart into the work she loves.

As one of our beloved trainers, Rain has a gift for patience, guiding both children and adults with kindness and understanding. With a decade of riding experience, she not only shares her passion for horses but now has the joy of owning one of her own.

Beyond training, Rain knows the ins and outs of ranch operations like the back of her hand. If you ever have a question—whether it’s about feeding, Tack, horses and their care, or daily tasks—she’s the one to ask. Her dedication, gentle spirit, and wealth of knowledge make her a true blessing to everyone she teaches and works alongside. We honestly don’t know what we would do without her.

Tiffany Gonzalez

  • A woman is sitting on the back of a brown and white horse.

How do we even begin to describe all that Tiffany does for Wild Wind Ranch? She is the heart and soul behind the daily care of our animals, ensuring every horse, goat, chicken, and bunny is fed and cared for with love. Speaking of bunnies—Tiffany not only looks after them, but she owns them all, making sure they are happy, healthy, and bringing joy to everyone who visits.

If you ever have a question about what needs to be done or who needs to be fed, Tiffany is the one with the answers. But the most incredible part? She does it all as a volunteer, giving her time and energy selflessly to help Wild Wind Ranch thrive. Her dedication and love for this place and its mission are truly unmatched, and we are beyond grateful to have her as part of our family.

Andi’s passion for working with horses and riders began years ago as a volunteer horse handler at a camp in Michigan. That experience sparked a lifelong dedication to helping others, leading her to become a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor in 2011. Since then, she has been driven by the joy of empowering riders with disabilities, watching them grow in confidence and skill in the saddle.

Her journey didn’t stop there. Andi became an Advanced Certified Equestrian Coach with Special Olympics North Carolina, where she led her team to multiple Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals—each victory a testament to her commitment, patience, and belief in her riders’ potential.

Over the past 14 years, she has taught at multiple facilities, but it wasn’t until a move to Southern California that she truly found home. By what seemed like chance (or maybe fate), Wild Wind Ranch was looking for volunteers just as she was searching for a place to share her gifts. After meeting Christy Lisle, she jumped right in—spending the very next day at the Farmer’s Market, giving pony rides and rediscovering the joy of connecting kids with horses.

If you’re looking for an instructor who blends deep knowledge with a firm but compassionate approach, Andi is your gal. She brings not just skill, but heart, to every lesson—helping riders of all abilities find their strength, confidence, and love for the ride. Wild Wind Ranch is beyond lucky to have her!

Volunteer & Instructor

Turoa Tahauri

  • A man and a little girl are playing with a lasso in a field.

With 20 years of experience across multiple disciplines, Turoa brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to Wild Wind Ranch. As a dedicated volunteer and instructor, he specializes in riding, roping, and horsemanship, sharing his expertise with both beginners and experienced riders alike.

But beyond his impressive skills, it’s Turoa’s patience, passion, and quiet wisdom that make him truly special. He has a way of teaching that builds confidence in both horse and rider, creating an environment where learning feels natural and rewarding. Whether he’s helping a student refine their technique or passing down the art of horsemanship, his love for the ranch and its mission shines through in everything he does.

We are incredibly grateful to have Turoa as part of the Wild Wind Ranch family, where his experience and heart continue to make a lasting impact on everyone he teaches.

Corrin is the heartbeat of our volunteer program, ensuring that everyone who comes to Wild Wind Ranch feels welcome, valued, and ready to jump in. If you’re here to volunteer, Corrin is your go-to person—always there to guide, support, and make sure everything runs smoothly.

With a lifelong love for horses that started when she was just 13, Corrin brings not only experience but also a deep understanding of what it means to care for these incredible animals. As a riding instructor, she shares her knowledge and passion with students of all ages, helping them build confidence and skill in the saddle.

But what makes Corrin truly special is that she does all of this as a volunteer herself. She gives her time, energy, and heart to the ranch simply because she believes in its mission and loves the people and animals that call it home. Her dedication goes far beyond organizing tasks—she builds a community, fosters connections, and makes Wild Wind Ranch a place where both people and animals thrive. We are beyond grateful for her leadership, her heart, and the countless hours she pours into making this ranch a home for so many.

Horse Trainer

Naomi Agnew

  • A woman is riding a horse down a dirt road at sunset.

Naomi may be new to Wild Wind Ranch, but she is far from new to horses. She grew up surrounded by them, developing a deep bond with these incredible animals from a young age. Her life has been intertwined with the world of horses, and it’s clear in everything she does.

With years of riding experience and now stepping into her role as a trainer, Naomi brings a quiet yet powerful confidence to the ranch. Her approach is gentle and patient, understanding that each horse has its own unique personality and needs. She’s not just focused on teaching riders how to ride—she’s dedicated to building lasting relationships between horse and rider, ensuring trust and respect are at the core of every lesson.

Though Naomi is just starting her journey at Wild Wind Ranch, it’s clear that her heart is already deeply invested. We are excited to see how her passion, expertise, and dedication continue to shape the ranch and the lives of everyone she works with. Naomi’s presence at Wild Wind Ranch is a true blessing, and we are grateful to have her as part of our family.

Jess grew up right here at Wild Wind Ranch, which means animals, ranch chores, and the occasional muddy boot have been part of her life from the very beginning. 🐴

She holds a degree in Animal and Aquarium Science and previously worked at the Los Angeles Zoo, gaining hands-on experience with a wide variety of animals and professional care teams.

Jessica has truly been around animals her whole life—and if you ask her, she generally prefers them to people. Luckily for everyone else, she’s still great at helping volunteers get involved and learn the ropes at the ranch.

As Volunteer Coordinator, Jessica helps organize the amazing volunteers who keep things running smoothly. Whether she’s teaching animal care, coordinating projects, or making sure the goats don’t outsmart everyone again, Jessica brings experience, dedication, and just the right amount of humor to the Wild Wind Ranch team.

Abby Goswick

  • A girl in a dalmatian costume is standing next to a horse.

Abby may be our youngest horseback riding instructor, but her natural talent and passion for horses are undeniable. From a young age, Abby has been captivated by the world of horses, and she’s channeled that love into becoming a skilled and enthusiastic instructor.

Her high-spirited energy and vibrant personality create a fun, dynamic atmosphere for her students. Abby’s ability to connect with both the horses and riders is remarkable—she brings out the best in her students, helping them build confidence and enjoy every moment in the saddle. Her lessons are filled with encouragement, challenge, and a deep sense of joy, making each lesson something to look forward to.

What truly sets Abby apart is her deep love for horses and her genuine desire to help others succeed. Her energy and dedication to teaching, combined with her youthful enthusiasm, bring a fresh and exciting vibe to Wild Wind Ranch. While she may be young, Abby’s heart for horses and teaching is beyond her years, and we are thrilled to watch her continue to grow and inspire everyone around her. We are so grateful to have Abby as part of our team!

If it has fur, feathers, hooves, or a heartbeat… there’s a good chance Julia has rescued it. 🐴🐐🐶

Julia is an animal lover to the absolute core and lives a homestead-style life with her husband and two daughters. Together they’ve created a small, personally funded sanctuary where discarded senior pets and livestock can spend their golden years surrounded by care, sunshine, and second chances.

When she’s not feeding animals or fixing fences, Julia runs a second-hand consignment shop in Apple Valley and keeps busy grooming dogs as a side gig. Safe to say—animals and people both tend to find their way to her.

Julia has owned horses for over 15 years and works with them using natural horsemanship training methods, focusing on patience, trust, and communication rather than force.

Life on the homestead can be a little chaotic, a little muddy, and full of early mornings—but Julia wouldn’t have it any other way. For her, giving animals a soft landing and a loving home is simply what life is all about. ❤️
